Last week, I got a fortune cookie after eating at the Chinatown Buffet. To my surprise, it read “Why not treat yourself to a good time instead of waiting for someone else to do it?” In and of itself, not that surprising…but (I know you see where I’m going already) with the traditional ending of “in bed” tacked on, my fortune cookie was advocating masturbation. That cookie was most definitely not a Republican (or conservative, self-righteous, or any of several other descriptors that are commonly associated with that phrase in the US. 🙂
