I know, you’ve all been waiting with anticipation…
The last month has gone by quickly. There’s some stuff that I can’t talk about, specifically some work related stuff that’s coming up and might not be prudent to release onto the internet.
I became an admin for the Cyberathlete Amateur League’s Counter Strike: Source division. It’s mainly answering questions posed by people who either can’t be bothered to read the rules or are looking for ways to get around them. I’ve put a lot of time into learning as much as I can, but I need to limit myself so that I don’t burn out too quickly. The people I’ve met are a lot of fun to talk to, so it’s not all work. As I told Dave at Custard Cup after his June Summer Band concert, it’s a pretty boring topic for people not involved, so I won’t pretend that anyone really cares about the details.
Daniel is spending his first full week with his mother this week. He left Sunday afternoon, so Monday felt like Saturday (his normal first day gone), including me oversleeping. I think my body is finally adjusting, though. I really felt like stopping off for a “Nina hug” Tuesday evening, and I really wish I had. I talked myself out of it, though. Nina is the head teacher in the Infant I class at Daniel’s daycare. He started in her room almost 3 years ago, when he was 3 months old. He spent his first 9-10 months with her every day. She was the only one he’d rock with to take a nap, even trying to nurse with her. Since he moved out of her room, we’ve gone to the Infant I room almost every day for his “Nina hug”. A lot of kids do it, so it’s not abnormal. She occasionally insists that “daddy” needs a hug, too. I was really missing Daniel, since we were past his normal 48 hours away point, and really felt like I needed a hug…but I talked myself out of it. Maybe tomorrow. *sigh*
I’m trying to get some housework done this week while Daniel’s away. He and I talked about a few of the changes I’m going to make, like moving his Thomas the Tank Engine bed back into his room and moving the futon into mine. I asked him where he wanted his bed, which was my way of getting him involved in the decision. His choice was the motivator to move the futon out. I think I’m going to put it in my room and make a little reading area for myself, which means I need to go to the store and get a decent lamp.
I think that’s enough typing for now…I obviously haven’t been keeping up with the “one thing interesting to blog about per week” idea that I had mentioned, but *shrug*.
