A late return

I got back about an hour ago from a rather busy weekend.  I visited my grandparents in Carbondale Thursday/Friday, visited my parents in Salem Friday/Saturday, had a family reunion on Saturday, and drove back so that I could make it to church.  I also put together my résumé and cover letter for a CITES job and read The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.  I know, I don’t know how I could call myself a geek without having read it, but it’s really good.  The only thing I’m slightly concerned about is that I might have gotten some sort of “based on the movie” version, as the cover was an image from the movie posters.  I’m not sure if it was simply a re-release at the time that the movie was released or if this is a dumbed-down version.  I actually bought it, though, so I’ll double check at the library when I go to check out the other books in the series.

I also picked up The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum, but I’m not going to start reading them until after I see The Bourne Ultimatum in the theater Sunday evening.  Based on the back of the books, there seem to be some storylines in the books that are missing from the movies, so I don’t want to disappoint myself by reading something that won’t be in the movie.  I like the movies on their own, so I think I’ll like the books even after seeing the movies.

It’s bedtime, so I’m headed that way.  Good night…
