Monthly update…

It’s been quite a while since I updated this, though I’ve thought about it several times in the past week.  I’ve just been…ambivalent?  *shrug*

Time really flew there at the end of the year.  Between Christmas shopping, taking care of Daniel, putting 1200 miles on my car between Champaign and Carbondale, and spending time with family and friends, that last two weeks went by really quickly.  I had dinner with some friends on New Year’s Eve, though I felt bad about it.  They were married Dec. 31, 2005…so this was their first wedding anniversary.  They’ve got a daughter who just turned two, so she and Daniel played and played all afternoon, though.

CAL Season 7 is starting next week and we’ve started practicing more, so that’s consuming a lot of my evening time after Daniel goes to bed.  This isn’t really a change from before, but I thought I’d mention it.

I’ve e-mailed a couple of people on in the past few weeks.  I’ve decided that I’m ready to date again, so we’ll see where that goes.

My therapist has told me that I’m doing a great job of handling my divorce and that I’m really far ahead of the curve, so that’s nice to know.  We’re working on a list of other things I’d like to explore…or deal with, if you will.  I’m not really sure what’s going to be on that list, but we’ll see.  🙂

Overall, I’m much happier this year than I was last year.  Work is still a drag, but I don’t have to deal with Melissa at home any more, so things are better overall.  I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I’m content, but I’m definitely happier.

I don’t really do “New Year’s Resolutions,” so you won’t be seeing any of those from me.

The diet is going…meh.  I would wager that the most difficult time of year for dieting is between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day and I managed to continue dropping a little bit of weight between that time period.  I’m averaging about 238 right now, which is down about 10 pounds from two months ago.  I need to re-affirm my willpower to continue dieting, however, so that I can continue dropping weight.  I had set some goals for myself on a timeline, specifically focused on March and May, but it doesn’t look like I’m going to hit those goals.  We’ll see if I can redouble my efforts and still meet them.  🙂
